The fact is, not all air purifiers are created equally! We believe that when it comes to purchasing an air purifier there are 3 main questions a consumer needs to ask themselves, and makes sure the product they decide to invest in covers each of these points both completely and confidently.
Question 1: What should I look for, and what am I getting when I choose an air purifier?
The fact is, not all air purifiers are created equally! At Platinum Z Systems is a 7 stage filtration system, not a 2 or 3 stage filtration system like most products found on the market today. Let us explain a bit further, and show you why this is so important when it comes to choosing an air purifier for your home, office or medical practice.
Most consumers when they hear the words “indoor air pollution” automatically think of dust. However, dust is only 1 of 3 components that contribute to indoor air pollution; and is actually the smallest contributor accounting for roughly only 5-10% of the actual problem. The remaining 90-95% of indoor air pollutants stem from pathogens (germs, bacteria, viruses and fungi) and chemicals / gases which become airborne by slowly off gassing from the materials used to construct our homes and offices as well as the furniture we furnish them with.
Most air purifiers found on the market today are only 3 stage filtration systems. What this means, is that most of the products you will find only consist of 3 filter mediums (different filters) used to filter your air. Unfortunately, 3 stage filtration systems will only filter 1 or 2 of the 3 components to indoor air pollution; NOT all 3.
When looking for an air purifier, you want a product that will address and have the capability of filtering all 3 of the components which make up indoor air pollution; Particulates (dust & allergens) , Pathogens (germs, bacteria, viruses and fungi) and chemicals. In order to accomplish this, an air purifier must have at least the following 4 filter mediums in it, or it will not be capable of filtering all 3 of the indoor air pollution components. They are:
1. Pre-Filter for larger particulates in order to protect the life of the HEPA Filter.
2. HEPA filter for fine particulates and allergens.
3. UV-C Germicidal Sterilization lamps for pathogens. (note: HEPA filters DON’T kill pathogens as some companies claim)
4. Photocatalyst Filter for chemicals, VOC’s and toxic gases found in indoor air.
Unfortunately, most products found in stores or online do not consist of these 4 filters together in one unit but in most cases only 2 or 3 of the above filter mediums meaning that at best you are only filtering 2/3 of the air pollution components from your air.

Question 2: Warranty and where? We dare you to compare!
Warranties demonstrate the confidence a company has in the longevity of their product. Unfortunately, most products today only come with a 2 or 3 year warranty and in some cases as little as 1 year. What this says to a consumer is that the company selling you their product doesn’t expect that product to last much longer then the warranty they put on it. With the Zephyr, we dare you to compare! The Zephyr comes with an industry leading 15 year warranty that we confidently put in place to protect our customers purchase. Warranty however is only half of the question though. The next question you need to ask and in most cases gets forgotten is…. . where do I take make product if it needs warranty repair? The unfortunate answer to this question in many cases isn’t found out by the consumer until well after the purchase is made, original packaging is discarded and the original proof of purchase has been misplaced. Many companies which have been very successful at branding there products into household names unfortunately do not have local warranty centers where their products are sold and in many cases require the customer to return their product for warranty work in its original packaging accompanied by proof of purchase (receipt) to a facility which is located across the country and in some cases a different country half way around the world. Due to this, many companies get away with offering warranties they know they will never have to honor, as a customer wont be able to fulfill the necessities of original packaging, proof of purchase nor be willing to spend in many cases as much or more as the product itself on shipping charges to actually take advantage of the warranty when the situation arises. We only sell our products to consumers located either in the same city or within reasonable distance of a warranty center; where a customer can personally drive and have their product repaired under warranty.
Question 3: Service? Air purifiers clean the air but who cleans and services the air purifier?
Last but certainly not least, the fact that most consumers are unaware of and many companies don’t want to bring up! Air purifiers are electronic appliances designed and built to take contaminants out of the air; which means they themselves get very dirty and need to be properly maintained not only to last but also in order for them to work properly and perform the task you bought them to do. If an air purifier is not properly maintained and serviced, it will not perform as it should, clean the air as it should, or last as long as it could. Unfortunately, after the sale service policies are virtually unheard of in the air purifier industry; and as a result, products performance and longevity suffer as a result. With the Zephyr, each machine is accompanied by a minimum 15 year service policy and options to increase your service package up to 25 years. This means that for 15 or 25 years from your date of purchase you can bring your Zephyr air purifier to your nearest service center and have your product cleaned, and an annual maintenance performed on it once per year at any service location.
